Day of Caring Kicks Off Annual Campaign Drive

Every campaign year starts with our Day of Caring, where teams of volunteers work on service projects for many of our partner agencies.  Volunteers learn about the impact of their United Way donation on local programs and services and agencies get help with projects that often, they simply don’t have the time or staff to do.  It’s a win/win for everyone!

“It’s my favorite day of the year,” says United Way’s Vice President, Su Marcy.  “There’s nothing better than seeing hundreds of volunteers, excited about giving back to their community.  It’s a fun way to start our campaign drive.”

This year’s event will be on Thursday, September 12th.  After projects are completed, all volunteers and participating agencies are invited to enjoy a community picnic at Robert Post Park sponsored by Home Plate Deli, Stewart’s Shops, and HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley.  Contact Su Marcy for more information about volunteering.
