Workplace campaigns typically occur between September and December, but can be tailored to meet a company’s calendar. Payroll deduction is the primary means for donation in a workplace campaign, but cash donations are welcomed too. Workplace campaigns typically “run” for four weeks, and are led by the company’s Employee Campaign Manager (ECM) and her team. Each year, United Way offers an incentive program that helps to encourage giving, offering exciting trips and products that have been donated by local and national businesses. The most successful workplace campaigns focus on employee participation, involve company leadership, and coordination by an energetic, well-organized, and well-respected ECM working with her team.
